Posted on Hayden ThomasTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I've had my windows for about a month now and it has been night & day. I live in the loop near Millennium Park, so I had constant noise 24/7 as my building/existing windows are very old. I no longer have to pause what I'm watching at night to wait for whatever ruckus outside is happening to quiet down. As a bonus, I'm also having fewer issues trying to keep the temperatures regulated! They're very professional and were great to work with. Also, very much a family owned and operated business from end-to-end (CEO himself came to measure, his sister handled communications, his father helped with installation, etc.) - I was super happy to give them my business and will continue to evangelize them whenever I can. Thanks!!!Posted on 张弛Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Loved it! I live next to the purple line, the sound bothered me so I reached out. At first I was hesitant with the price of the windows, but then the results were amazing. Michael and the team were absolutely the best! They came back to fix the minor issue happened during installation and were the most heart warming people. Do it! You won’t regret it either!Posted on Erica STrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Moved to Chicago and didn’t realize how noisy living by the train station could be. Did my research online and came across Soundproof Chicago. Since installing their soundproof window, I am no longer woken up by loud noises from the trains, cars and the day to day public noises. So grateful for a peaceful nights rest. Thank you Soundproof Chicago !Posted on Naomi ReinharzTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. They were professional, kind, hard working, respectful and thorough.Posted on susan hillTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I love Soundproof Chicago! They saved my sanity by soundproofing my living room wall. Mike came to my condo for a consult and provided a quote the next morning. They seem to be the only company that specializes in Soundproofing in Chicagoland. George and Joe did the work. They were beyond nice. They were very personable and kept me updated. Very responsive. Dave was the finisher. He was very nice too. They did a fantastic job. I can no longer hear my loud neighbors. Highly recommend.Posted on Meredith HarrisonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I highly recommend Mike, Mary, and the rest of the team at Soundproof Chicago! They were professional, efficient, and friendly. And the windows are amazing! They block alley and street noise, and we all sleep so much better. Grateful we found this wholesome family business.Posted on YH WangTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. They have great integrity- was honest about the investment might not really solve the issues. I really appreciate their advice!Posted on Seth ThomsonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Soundproof Chicago did a great job soundproofing my office ceiling. I had contractors that were skeptical that their solution would make a difference, but they achieved their objectives. Everyone I met was very kind and professional, and they were great to talk to, and were very thorough in their explanations to me and working through issues as they discovered them. I can't speak highly enough about this company. Quality people with solid skills.Posted on Scott ShermetaroTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Highest recommendation for this company! Incredible service, quick installation, and much cheaper than replacing windows. We noticed an immediate reduction to the amount of noise in the room where the windows were installed. Great customer service throughout the entire process from the initial meeting to get a quote, shipping updates, and installation.Load more
Posted on Erica S.Verified Moved to Chicago and didn't realize how noisy living by the train station could be. Did my research online and came across Soundproof Chicago. Since installing their soundproof window, I am no longer woken up by loud noises from the trains, cars and the day to day public noises. So grateful for a peaceful nights rest. Thank you Soundproof Chicago ! Would highly recommendPosted on Elise B.Verified I had an amazing experience with Soundproof Chicago from start to finish! Michael Ibarra provided a free estimate to soundproof my bedroom, office, and hallway ceilings in my apartment, and he was super helpful and responsive when I sent follow up questions afterwards. Joe and George performed the actual soundproofing, and I could not have asked for a better duo--they were communicative, responsive, and meticulous. They spent a lot of time and energy making sure my floors, walls, and furnishings were protected, and they cleaned up regularly so my dog and I weren't tracking dust throughout my home. Joe and George are also just lovely people to be around which is an added bonus since we spent a few weeks together. :) Most importantly, the soundproofing worked!!! I only partially soundproofed my place, so I can hear my neighbors in my kitchen/living room, but when they walk to the back part of their unit, their footsteps magically disappear. I am very much looking forward to a full night's sleep once I move my bed back! (I'm currently waiting on the ceilings to get painted by a third party.) Summary-- It's pricy but so worth it!Posted on Kim C.Verified This is a long overdue review. We live in the Central Business district, where motorcycles, three wheelers and sirens are 24/7. We were planning on moving, as things just keep getting louder and louder every year....even though we love our home and where it's located. As one last attempt to save our City life, we called Soundproof Chicago. Mike came out to speak with us, measure our windows (one bedroom wall of floor to ceiling windows, and 2nd bedroom with 2 wall to ceiling window walls and sliding doors) and showed us how he manages to insert a second set of windows without any de traction from the aesthetics or size of the rooms. He then contacted us the next day with a quote for the whole job. It took a month or so, for the windows to be custom made, as we were in the middle of COVID. But when they came in, we were contacted, and made an appointment to have them installed. Our installer showed up on time, knew what he was doing, and was very meticulous about the whole job. They blend in so well, I forget they are there. They have reduced our noise by 95%!!! We don't hear any of the motorcycles, trucks backing up or sirens! Home saved!! This really works, no joke...with no downtime, no mess and your peace and quiet back!! We have had them for 6 months or so now, and appreciate them on a DAILY basis. A wonderful company and great people to work with. The price for sleep and sanity? Priceless. Best investment we have ever made.Posted on Eliza E.Verified The window inserts have really helped. Nothing will prevent all of the sound from coming in but the reduction is noticeable and the windows actually look great. We have some particularly loud neighbors and the windows do a good job of reducing the sounds of kids yelling, skateboards, etc. that happen next our windows. We also hear much less of other day-to-day noises like dogs barking and car doors slamming. Not cheap, but I feel like it was money well spent for a more peaceful home. Everyone is very nice and helpful. I did have some communication & scheduling challenges and felt that I had to follow up a lot to get the install scheduled. Understandable given the demand for home improvement work right now; I just had to be extra on top of things to make it happen. Nevertheless, the finished product was worth it and I would absolutely work with Mike and team again if needed.Posted on Walker D.Verified We did a lot of research on ways to reduce the outside noise coming through our sliding door and windows. We found several companies that offered solutions. The most impressive was CitiQuiet, but they are in New York, and we're in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We tried finding someone local, but the few we found kept pushing either a DIY job, which unless you're a contractor or work in construction, this is far from a DIY project. One closer location specialized in this, but said we would have to arrange for a local contractor to do the installation, and the owner said he would walk them through it over the phone. Plus, we would have to take delivery of the heavy windows and frames. Not ideal, because we live in a condo. They also wanted us to take the measurements, and while we can certainly measure windows, it can be tricky and we needed this to be accurate. We were looking for someone to do the complete job (BTW-one bedroom window space is slightly larger than the other bedroom window space). We finally called CitiQuiet in NYC, and explained the situation and were referred to their affiliate in Chicago, Soundproof Chicago. We explained how we wanted someone to handle the project from A-Z, and they said they absolutely could. We even wanted our windows tinted, and they also coordinated that with a company out of Orlando. We were impressed when Michael Ibarra of Soundproof Chicago said he would fly down, at his expense, to do the consultation and measurements. This is before any commitment or signed contract. Mike is awesome, super nice, very knowledgeable, and walked us through the entire process, and explained the options with no pressure or upselling. I was even wanting their 1" double glass for the balcony sliding doors, thinking it would maximize the soundproofing, but he showed me how it might not need that more expensive option, plus with our large balcony doors, the 1" glass might not be feasible. After meeting with him, we knew we had made the right choice. After providing a down payment, the windows were ordered, and after about 6 weeks, they were installed (It took a little longer due to coordinating long distance logistics and the pandemic). Mike, his father and Xavier flew down to do the install. They managed it all, making sure everything was done to specs, and all condo rules were followed. They even have a patent on their window framing system, so it's a unique feature in doing the best job of dampening sound vibrations. We knew the windows would help reduce outside noise, but didn't know how much it'd help until we experienced the difference after the install was complete (they finished in a little more than a day). It's amazing just how much outside noise is blocked. We live on the Intracoastal Waterway across from a popular restaurant, and with customers leaving late at night, and the late night cleaning crew getting started, there can be a lot of noise. Also, some boats cruising by will play their music too loud. In the morning, delivery and garbage trucks and leaf blowers start arriving, plus the restaurant has live bands outside on weekend afternoons and evenings. We now hear very little to none of that anymore. I had been using a white noise generator in my bedroom to try to drown out all the noise, now I don't even need it. Thanks to Mike and his team for restoring our peace, and being able to keep our condo versus selling it and moving, plus this adds resale value. No matter where you live in the U.S., if you are in a noisy environment, I highly recommend contacting Soundproof Chicago. They also can make your walls and ceilings quieter too.Posted on TwentySomething Y.Verified Soundproof Chicago was beyond professional! They committed to a date and made sure, come hell or high water, that they would meet that date, even installing the window on Christmas Eve! The product is beautiful, and I could not be happier. What a wonderful family business.Posted on Carlo D.Verified We had our ceilings soundproofed and are very happy with the results. Mike Ibarra came out to give us a quote on our project and gave us an honest evaluation of the options available as well as what we could expect as an end result for each. George and Joe Zamarron did the actual soundproofing and both had a deep understanding of what they were doing and how each part enhanced the soundproofing. They handled the whole project well and we are very satisfied with the end product.Posted on Julia D.Verified We initially had Mike Ibarra come out to do window inserts for our bedrooms. We moved into a new construction condo in Lakeview and our windows apparently aren't very good so it was very noisy from traffic and the bar across the street. The inserts were fantastic- they deaden the normal sounds and even quiet down motorcycles and sirens enough that I can sleep through them. We also had problems with pounding footsteps from the people above us. We talked to Mike some more and decided to bite the bullet and have his group redo the ceilings in our master bedroom. His workers Joe, George, and Dave were very friendly and did fantastic work on a very labor intensive process (multiple layers of drywall, batting, isolation rails and soundproofing compound). They have many years of experience in doing this type of work and were nice enough to show me everything they were doing and how the process worked. They also kept everything remarkably clean- if you've ever worked with drywall you know how the dust gets everywhere- but they managed to keep it confined largely to the room being worked in. We have been very pleased with the results so far, the footfalls are still audible but much quieter and muffled. The soundproofing compound is supposed to take about a month to set fully so it should improve even more over time. We can finally sleep in peace. Thank you Soundproof Chicago!Posted on Moham S.Verified Michael reached out to me to make things right. I really appreciate him contacting me.Load more
